Let Us Tell You About Us
Nancy Evans has a long history of helping others, having received a BSN in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1985. Her successful career as a registered nurse included hospital nursing in Pediatrics, Medicine and Neurovascular Progressive Units. Later, she was the clinical manager for MCV Physicians Family Practice Clinic and then nurse manager for MCV Physicians Ambulatory Care Center at Stony Point in Richmond, Virginia. Nancy also loved teaching in the nursing program at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College for ten years.
Throughout her nursing career, Nancy recognized the importance of caring for the whole person and seeking a dynamic balance of body, mind, and spirit. She taught stress management techniques to patients and the general public and in 2002 was certified as a Hypnotherapist. She also explored energy healing, attaining Master Level in the Usui Natural Healing System in 2002. In 2003 Nancy trained with Marie Mongan while getting certified in HypnoBirthing® which she taught for two years. Nancy also studied and practiced yoga for over twenty years and became a certified yoga instructor in 2004, just prior to moving from Virginia to Fort Collins, Colorado.
Nancy quickly claimed Fort Collins as home, loving the vitality, people and surroundings. Within three months she met Susan McCrossin in Boulder who, in association with Dr. Charles Krebs, developed a technique of brain integration using acupressure and Applied Physiology® to improve learning difficulties in the 1980s. Once she researched and experienced the technique, she knew she had found something that could help large numbers of children and adults.
Nancy became certified in Crossinology® Brain Integration Technique through Susan McCrossin in 2005 and 2006. Since that time she has maintained a busy private practice, establishing Open Pathways to Learning LLC with her husband Robert, who manages the business and community outreach projects.
Nancy brings a broad range of skills and sensitivities to her work with clients as she continues to expand her knowledge. She has studied “Theory on the Energetic Structure of Man,” “Kinesiology Correction Techniques for the Energetic Structure of Man,” “Stress Indicator Point Systems 1-3,” and “Vision Corrections” with Dr. Charles Krebs; “Clinical Kinesiology Basic I-III” with Dr. Christopher Beardall DC, Dipl.AC; “Holographic Memory Resolution Levels 1 and 2” with Brent Baum, STB, SSL, ICADC, LISSAC, CCH and Applied Physiology’s Agape Quest 1-4 and Seven Chi Keys with Adam Lehman, ND, TNP, EnK.
